Mum Daily

Donna Davies

I've been married for almost 32 years and I have been a mother for nearly 28 years. Our son Drew lives in California with his wife and our first Granddaughter. So I am enjoying my new role as Grandmother, although it's a long distance relationship. Our daughter, Anna, is 25 and living back at home after five years living away. It is such a gift to share life with her now as a mature young woman. Anna has been our ‘strong willed’ child, with a mind of her own from the moment she announced to the world “I have arrived!” I began my journey of learning in my 40’s after being a full time ‘at home’ Mum for fifteen years. I went to TAFE and did a Diploma of Community Services and then worked in Family Support - giving help, advice and encouragement to families struggling with the challenges of being a parent and dealing with the family environment and all that holds. I then went to Christian Heritage College and studied a Bachelor of Social Science (counselling) degree. I began a Counselling Practice at home called “Talking Stick” for women and girls from fourteen years of age. Talking Stick offers general counselling helping with #Self awareness #Grief and Loss #Anger issues #Relationship and #spiritual issues. i am honoured to be able to walk along side mums on their day to day path of being a “parent” and to offer my thoughts, encouragement, tips and advice from this space. I look froward to sharing the ride with you!

Help them to love who they are and to embrace their body shape and size, their colouring and height and to respect others in the same way. Our children will then be able to accept and celebrate difference, and to not be afraid of difference.
