Lizzie

Hi, I'm Lizzie. A food-loving, health-embracing, busy, active, musician, and a creative professional, with a penchant for writing long sentences, cooking, snowboarding, running and living life to its fullest; with good friends, supportive family, wonderful husband, and a thirst for sipping good wine under the sun. Despite being active and appearing healthy, my 20s were overshadowed by torn knees, fractures, joint pains, sluggish thyroid, ulcers, and severe gallbladder attacks that paralyzed my life for more than a decade. In 2007, I underwent life-saving gallbladder surgery. To sum up the extent of my disease, my surgeon simply said, “You were a walking time bomb.” It took 2 more years, a few more ER visits, and another reaction to a common prescription drug for joint pain that I finally had it. Since most of my pills were anti-inflammatories, I figured all I needed to do was prevent inflammation. I found my answers combing through medical journals, research papers, books, and other sources.

Creamy sauce – hold the cream

food, cooking, pasta, sauce

Sometimes we just can’t help our cravings for those lardy creamy sauce dishes—like pasta Alfredo. Unfortunately, eating them has always made me violently ill and bloated so over the years I’ve had to come up with my own creative ways.
