I received a Big W catalogue in the mail earlier this week and was impressed with the look of the new Peter Morrissey collection advertised therein. I went to my local Big W store this morning with my 2 year old son in tow, and was pleasantly surprised.
I’ve always been a big fan of black and white (thanks to the example of my now-retired fashion retailer mum). I tried on four outfits and bought these two, only spending $100. The server at the changing rooms was very accommodating of me, my armful of outfits to try and my young son. Nice work Big W.
Peter Morrissey has produced a fantastic body of work over several decades and it’s great that his work is now accessible to the greater population. I love a designer who knows how to dress a woman. I’m not a fan of the androgynous look, I’m a woman and frankly I’d like to look like one! I think my husband agrees.
Herringbone pattern blouse $29 – with gathering in just the right places and is easy to iron.
Skinny jeans in a dark blue $25 – I tried the white pair as per the catalogue, but as we all know, if you’re not tiny, white can be very unflattering for your thighs.
I wore these turned up a couple of times to show off these mid-height pointed heels in a beautiful raspberry red – this style is called ‘Niki’ and was reduced to just $9.
Next, was the Striped Knit Maxi Dress $29. It is comfortable and well designed for maximum shapeliness. I’ve teamed it with a thick grosgrain ribbon around my waist, but if you’ve got a short torso it’s better to stick with a thin belt.
All of the accessories are from AnnaNova www.runwaystyle.com.au
Have a look and let me know what you think. Love your work Mr Morrissey!
