As a kid, camping with my family during school holidays created some of my favourite memories.
As a grownup, my hubby’s family introduced me to this amaaaazing campfire tradition that’s fun and yummy for kids and grownups alike. So here’s the recipe:
1C SR Flour
Mix equal quantities of milk & water to create a bread dough consistency
Add salt to taste
Roll into a log
Wrap around a long stick, closing off the end and hold over the open fire (with an adult of course, kids!)
Cook until the damper comes easily off the stick
Add butter and your choice of filling – jam, honey, maple syrup etc
This damper melts in your mouth and it’s fun to make for everyone!
